Reiki Master Attunement
Feb 8

There are a variety of Reiki modalities and Reiki training courses that differ according to the students knowledge and experience. Training is different when you are beginner than when you have had a few attunements and have a better idea of what Reiki is.

This article will review the basic levels to give you an idea of the Reiki process as a whole.

In Reiki Level One or First Degree you are introduced to energy through a practice called attunement. You will acquire Level One after you learn about the 4 attunements; the information is taught in two days. The teachings will expose you to the healing energy of Reiki. This is called an initiation and it is where the Reiki Master will teach you how to open your chakras so you can receive this powerful Universal Life Force.

During each attunement you will be developing your relationship with energy. You will learn how it feels within your body, and how to work with it. You will also learn of the effects on using this Life Energy on yourself and others.

Once you have been attuned to Level One, you will be capable of channeling the Reiki energy. Channeling means bringing energy to your body at will and then being able to transfer it to others.

All of this learning is a process that happens during attunements and in between them, as you get to practice on yourself. This is why Reiki training courses are given throughout several days to allow your system to settle into this new space. It will take up to 21 days for complete cleansing. This means you will let go of the negative energy in your system. When you conclude Level One, you will be able to send healing energy to all living beings.

Reiki Level Two training or Second Degree should be done at least two months after you have completed Reiki Level One. This is to allow time for your vibration to build up and remain high on a regular basis.

Level Two is also a two day Reiki course where you will receive another attunement with the goal to increase your vibration and introduce you to three of the four reiki symbols. You will also learn how to make each of these symbols work. A Reiki Level Two practitioner may be able to start healing at a distance.

Once you conclude Reiki Level Two training, you will again have to go through a 21 day cleaning phase where you'll remove any negative energy that your body may be holding.

Most Reiki students will be pleased with what they have learned after completing Level Two. But a few will be interested in becoming Masters so they will continue to Reiki Level Three training.

There are two options for Level Three. The first one is called “3A” and it is meant for those that want to become Masters to practice Reiki on themselves and others but are not interested in teaching Reiki.

The second and final option is Third Degree or Reiki Master in which you will not only be a healer but you'll become a trainer as well.

It is recommended to wait between 6 to 12 months before taking Reiki Level Three, to allow for extensive practice and experience. When you feel ready, you will again undergo a two day session so you may receive your final attunement. There will be another 21 day cleaning period after this attunement. The highest form of energy is received during this Level Three training. Some courses may also include a new Reiki modality in the syllabus, such as the Seichim to help you through.

What makes this last degree different is that you will learn Reiki from an instructor's perspective.

This will enable you as the practitioner to come up with your own lesson plans, and develop your guides and manuals to teach Reiki. One subject you will learn in this level is related to the boundaries and ethics of being a Reiki Master. Some reiki training courses will require you to pass a test that consists on creating a Level One module for training meant to treat new patients.

There are many ways in with you can enroll in a Reiki training course. It is available in some institutions, through home study programs, online learning classes and distance instruction. You just have to do some research for you to find the best option available for you.

If you decide to join a class, look for one with a limited amount of students for you to get plenty of hands-on experience, and individual attention from the instructor. They are usually limited to 4 to 8 students.

We are all able to learn and experience the wonders of Reiki. No prior experience or qualifications are required other than to keep an open mind to let the positive energy flow and achieve balance in body, mind and spirit.

Reiki Music

The therapeutic effects of music have been a well known fact throughout ages. The Bard's famous words were, “If music be the food of love, play on” and these immortal words ring true for what is Reiki if not love? A Reiki healer does much more than merely transferring energy, a Reiki healer transfers living energy that is healing, loving and compassionate to someone in need.

Music has been used throughout centuries for meditation and ritualistic purposes and music finds its expression in chants, devotional songs, hymns and invocations throughout various cultures and traditions. In the Vedic traditions, the sound of 'Aum' was said to be the primordial sound of the Universe and an invitation to the Gods. It was the only sound that existed before everything else did and is the only sound in the vast emptiness of space, within and without us. Even in the western world, no pantheon would be complete without a God dedicated for music and it is interesting to note that the Gods corresponding to music were also associated with healing and also light, for example: Lugh from the Celtic pantheon and Apollo from the Greek pantheon. This goes to say that music can bring about healing and also light, this light is the Divine light channeled by Reiki.

Music therapy when combined with Reiki can be a powerful healing mechanism. While Reiki can be an attunement to divine energies, music can create the correct atmosphere and increase the vibrational effect of the received energies in order to greatly amplify the healing effects. Sound reaches the ear and as the ear receives the different frequencies of the sound, they stimulate the a nerve that runs right through the middle of the brain that is again distributed throughout all the neural cells that process the sound and promote the associative and cognitive powers of the brain to release latent joyous and creative energies, loosen up, soothe tiredness and induce a feeling of well being and peace.

Music is also commonly used to soothe and stimulate the chakras and the sounds are used to heal pre-existing energy patterns that are residing within the chakras that vibrate on a certain frequency and are different for each chakra. Using reiki music for cyhealing chakras through specially tuned frequencies that vibrate on a certain frequencies could work wonders for balancing any imbalances in the chakras. Reiki music is specially made with high and low tones made to alternate constantly that triggers a stimulus which aids in the therapy. Similarly all the symbols of Reiki are also said to vibrate on a certain frequent which can be reached out to by the different notes of the music specially prepared for this purpose.

Reiki music has been found to be greatly effective for practicing GIM or Guided Imagery Meditation in which certain musical notes are used to attune the mind on a certain frequency which encourages the emotional flow and this further results in the self merging with the Higher Self being carried by the music and this healing music is slow, repetitive, and is like a gently chanted soothing mantra. In the medical world of psychology it is called the Helen Bonny method of GIM.

In modern times there are various choices in new-age music you can find easily. Music is a respite from our hectic lives and serves to soothe us and calm our inner senses and restore balance and harmony. If you seek some solace pick up a piece of Reiki music today.

Reiki Guides

Reiki is fast gaining popularity as a method for healing and gaining wisdom by connecting forces with the Divine. Reiki can be loosely defined channeling Universal Light for the purpose of healing the self or others. Though the original system of Reiki does not point towards the appearance of spirit guides, many a time this Light also brings with it a spiritual energy in the form of a guide who many call a spirit guide, a reiki guide or even angelic guides depending on their spiritual inclinations.

A spirit guide is different from a spirit, when you are performing Reiki you are not channeling spirits but because of the high amounts of Spiritual Energy generated that is directed towards a positive purpose like healing, spirits who assist in such purposes may stage an appearance. These spirits are not just spirits invoked in shamanistic rituals but these are spirits who work as guides, advisors or spiritual counselors. The ancient Shinto religion features Divine Spirits called Kami who inhabit this world and are a part of each and every thing in this world like the elements and even intangible qualities like joy, fertility etc. however the system of Reiki started by Dr. Usui Mikao did not include any aspects of Shintoism that had to do with working with these spirits or Kami. Thus even though originally this Japanese tradition did not work with spirit guides, their presence started becoming favorable to the process of Reiki and during the 80's and the 90's with the coming of the new-age spiritual revolution, Reiki systems also began incorporating spirit guides often calling them as Reiki guides. However Reiki techniques such as Byosen Ho and Reiji Ho help the practitioner develop intuitive abilities that are a gateway to astral wisdom and connecting with spirit guides.

Though these guides are astral spirits that can be present in a Reiki session and guide a healer to know things about the patient for example, while working with certain patients it may become difficult to figure out the correct approach, work on a specific site of blockage etc and this is where a spirit guide can come in to guide the healer and this in turn boosts the power of Reiki to bring about great results and higher healing.

It is not that an initiate at the second level will magically start to communicate with sprit guides, it takes practice and perseverance and to develop intuitive abilities to sense spirit guides through Reiki techniques like Byosen Ho and Reiji Ho. It is not an easy process but certainly not impossible if you learn to listen to the voice that resides inside of you. This voice is constantly talking but the noise from the mind drowns it out, keenly listening to the voice of your heart is a tool of power that is always with you. This voice can guide you like no other spirit can and it is vital to heed its call and this is what can be developed by using the aforementioned Reiki techniques.

Constantly honing your skills and practicing Reiki with faith and understanding can lead to some wonderful experiences with yourself – your own inner work and also share wisdom with spirit guides.

Reiki symbols are Japanese forms derived from Sanskrit are mostly influenced by this old language. These symbols are means of centering or focusing your attention in order to connect with “specific” healing frequencies and are used to increase energy and to help direct the flow of Ki (or chi in Chinese). These symbols are taught during the Second Degree of Reiki by a Reiki master. They are pictorial/written symbols that are used in the attunement processes and in the healing processes.

The energy involved, the Ki, was and still is the root of the entire body of Chinese medicine, where it is known as chi. Its name is actually meant to be a mantra that helps one connect with the symbol's energy, and means “Right consciousness is the root for everything”, or better yet, “Correct thought is the essence of being”. During the reiki attunement the energy of the attunement causes the Reiki symbols to become a stimulus and the particular energy the symbol represents which is present during the attunement becomes the response.

During an attunement you are given the connection with the energy through the symbols and they are used to help you focus. The first reiki symbol of the 3 learned at Level 2 Reiki is the power symbol called “Cho Ku Rei” and is used to focus the energy and used for protection. The other two are Sei Hei Ki and Hon Sha ze Sho Nen

Use the first three Reiki symbols in conjunction with each other to fashion the Reiki energy to its best use for each individual client. For analogic example, the first symbol, the power symbol, magnifies Reiki like a magnifying glass magnifies the sun's energy.

Attunements can be given only by a Reiki master and can be given for either the purpose of training one in Reiki, or for simply giving someone a larger experience of Reiki than usually experienced in treatments. The importance of having the true reiki symbols is critical for proper attunement to be a Reiki channel.

With proper training, Reiki practitioners can become proficient in the use of these symbols to heal themselves and others, local or distance healing.

The Reiki practitioner assists the client to heal themselves spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically by a simple laying on of hands. When used to heal pain, the symbol can reduce the intensity of the pain, and slowly cause the pain to completely disperse.

Sei Hei Ki Frequently called 'the Mental-Emotional Symbol', Sei Hei Ki assists in healing the mental-emotional imbalance. The mental and emotional healing symbol balances the right and left brain. The symbol can be used on yourself (or others) when feelings of fear, anxiety, anger or depression come up. Creating the oneness to a part of you who has suffered provides the base for then using the mental/emotional symbol to gently provide healing.

Their use does not require that we be able to meditate or have years of spiritual practice. Lots of practice in applying the symbols to increase energy, to do distant healing, to heal the subconscious mind, to create affirmation, to clear negative energy in the environment. With practice the reiki symbols will become less relevant and the focus will change to the “intent” of the specific energies required.

The Reiki practitioners actually do not believe in sharing the knowledge of Reiki and Reiki symbols to aspiring students unless they have attained the specific levels in Reiki. Many practitioners use this symbol whenever giving a treatment. Either way, a significant number of these newer symbols are in existence and are used by more and more Western Reiki practitioners to supplement their practice.

The Reiki symbols are usually shown to a student by a Reiki teacher or master, along with the concepts required in using them. These are sacred healing symbols which enhance the flow of Life Force Energy. These symbols help in linking up with the vital energy forces of life.

You can easily become a powerful reiki master in 48 hours, with a simple, proven system of quickly, easily and very inexpensively becoming a Reiki Master. Even if you're completely new to this beautiful art of healing and Self-Realization at http://chikara-do-reiki.info/
