Cho ku Rei indicates strength, power, action. It represents energy with a direction and purpose. It is used to support all other Reiki instruments (creative visualization, positive verbalization, recall, other symbols — from Usui’s Reiki, Karuna Reiki or one’s own).

One of EFT’s most useful aspects is its flexibility in working with other energy treatments.

Many clinicians’ efforts are to focus their attention on the problem while balancing or remove an obstruction to the body’s energy system. This influences them to combine EFT with other procedures. Other kinds of healing bring better and speedier results when combined with EFT.

Hypnotherapists use EFT while their patients are in trance and ask them to tap on the specific acupoints to intensify the core emotion that causes the problem. This allows the patients to eliminate and neutralize this emotion faster and use their own intuition for healing. By attaining emotional freedom, they return to a natural state of balance and strength. The combination of EFT and hypnosis likewise helps patients boost their confidence and good traits.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) works even better when EFT is infused. With the movements of the eyes, the emotional charge associated with a traumatic experience is easily accessed. However, many patients with risk of destabilization or suicide are not ready for EMDR right away. For better supervision and support, they must make some progress in areas such as tolerating their emotions first. This is where the tapping sessions of EFT come in.

Acupuncture and EFT go by the same principles. They both tackle the meridian acupoints and the flow of energy through the body. However, they differ in the manner of application. While acupuncture uses needles, EFT involves tapping of the fingers. It takes many years for acupuncturists to master their field, and they must be properly licensed. For this, acupuncture cannot be self-administered like the EFT. This is likewise the reason why acupuncturists teach EFT to their patients for home use.

Massage therapists merge it into their job. Working hands-on with the human body in pain, they can feel whether there is an openness or resistance to unwinding the muscular tension. When resistance is felt, they stop massaging and shift to EFT tapping. Once they resume the massage work, the muscles are more loose as compared how it was prior to the tapping.

Making a fear disappear with Reiki, the practitioner positions his hand over the patient in the Distance symbol. This sends Reiki back to the time when the fear first occurred and became a problem. The patient then regresses and changes the past based on how he wanted it to be then and on how he perceives the situation will occur if it happened now. When the patient’s memories get intense and vivid, he diverts to EFT tapping. Then he leads the patient to a pretense, which will let the patient find his real identity resurfacing.

Medical doctors and healing practitioners of all sorts incorporate EFT with the psychotherapeutic alternative cure that they carry out. Emotional Freedom Technique is so versatile that it can complement other procedures grounded by the similar theories and methodology. They are compatible with each other because they share the common goal of freeing the energy system from negative emotions that block the balance of the human body.

Many individuals have troubles understanding the concept of distant healings. They understand that Reiki is a form of energy that while invisible to the naked eye is perceivable as temperature changes. In this way, they know that when they receive Reiki from a practitioner in person, they will actually feel the energies doing their job.

However, for many of the same people, it is beyond their comprehension that Reiki could travel over great distances and still be effective. To them, it seems almost fantastical. Of course, this skepticism is eliminated as soon as they have a distant session and feel the same effects as if the practitioner were working on them in person.

I have to admit, I was one of the skeptical myself. Yet after having both received and given distant sessions, it is now my preferred method of delivery. It is extremely flexible allowing me to help people anywhere in the world, including those individuals who live in places that don’t have adequate medical facilities or access to specialists such as myself. It also allows me to lower my fees because I no longer have to factor in travel expenses.

So how does distant healing work? We already know that Reiki is a form of energy like light and sound. We also know that some waves such as radio and television can be sent over long distances. The programs we listen to are often broadcast miles maybe even hundreds or thousands of miles away from our homes. It is said that such waves travel into space beyond our planet. Of course, we can’t see or touch these energies as they travel. All we know is that we turn on the radio and there is sound or we turn on the television and there is picture and sound.

For the receiver, the key to getting access to these frequencies is knowing where and how to tune in. For the sender there are other considerations such as amplification of the signal and directing it as required. We won’t get into that here as these complex concepts are part of what Reiki practitioners are taught in their specialized training.

Suffice it to say that for the person receiving Reiki through distant healing, the process is deceptively easy. Once they know who to tune in to the energies, their experience is much like a Reiki session done in person. It’s simple. Just as turning on the radio or watching television seems almost like magic.

So, I’d like you to sit back and relax
and just focus on your breathing.
because in a moment, we are going to be accessing higher vibrational energy
from the infinite source of love and healing.
And there are many energies that we can access.
but for the purposes of this meditation exercise,
we are going to access the Reiki energy.

So, imagine, if you will, the inside of your body being perfectly hollow.
You are an empty cup and as you breathe deeply,
relaxing completely,
the electric-blue light of Reiki is going to be entering into your body
through the top of your head;
filling your body up from the bottom up
until you are entirely full and overflowing with Reiki healing energy.

So, breathe deeply and relax completely
and with each inhale,
take this Reiki energy in through the top of your head
and like water allow it to fall all the down through your body
and begin to fill and pool up inside of your feet;
filling up your toes, your feet, all the way up to your ankles
and as you exhale, exhale the darkness,
exhale the stress, the negativity the tension,
the fear or whatever ailment is bothering you.
Just let it go.

Exhale.

Inhale in this Reiki light;
filling up your legs,
all the way up to your knees,
all the way up to your waist.
Exhaling your concerns,
your fears, your worries.

Allowing yourself to completely enter into this moment
surrendering to this Light of Love and Healing.
Let this light fill your torso;
filling all the way up to your chest and spilling over into your arms,
filling up your fingers, your hands your forearms,
all the way up to your shoulders and your neck,
filling up your head
until your entire body is completely full and overflowing
with this Reiki energy.

Continue to breathe deeply, relaxing completely
and allow this energy to work deeper into your body.
You can, if you wish, visualize the various systems of your body.
Imagining this light radiating and pouring through those systems;
your cardiovascular system,
beaming with this Light Energy,
filling your blood stream
with this Reiki energy.

Imagining these symbols circulating throughout your entire body.

Imagining your respiratory system;
seeing your lungs as you breathe in,
being filled with this electric-blue energy;
entering into the capillaries,
re-energizing and vitalizing
and oxygenating the blood stream;
watching as this healing Light circulates
throughout your entire respiratory system
and cardiovascular system,
from the biggest veins in your body
all the way to the tiniest capillaries in your brain.

And you can imagine your nervous system,
this beautiful network of highways,
branching off and splintering off in all directions like a tree
transmitting the electrochemical impulses
back and forth between the body and the brain
and imagine this circuitry within your body
being flooded with this beautiful, electrical-blue light.

You can see these symbols traveling through the corridors of your nervous system;
removing blockages, balancing the circuitry,
connecting various highways.
making communication and information transfer
much more effective
and just exhaling all the muted colors you see in your body.

Inhaling…
clear, blue-electrical light
and exhaling the darkness.

Now, you can continue this visualization, if you’d like,
imagining all the various systems of your body
and allowing this Reiki energy to penetrate more deeply into these systems;
cleansing and combining and integrating them.

These days, people are focusing more and more on making natural choices. Organic foods, regular exercise, naturopathic medicine, herbal remedies and even electric or electric hybrid cars are becoming regular elements in daily life. For many, alternative therapies such as Pranic, Tantric, and Reiki healings have become the rule rather than the exception.

If you have interest in New Age literature, or have studied areas of spirituality, sexuality and healing, you have likely seen terms like “chakra”, “prana”, “aura”, and “tantra”. Here you will come to understand the meanings of some of these exotic vocabularies.

“Chakra” is your energy center. It is a term used in the ancient Hindu system of healing known as Pranic healing. “Prana” means life energy. “Aura” is another word that can be traced to Pranic healing. The aura is a non-physical body consisting only of energy, which exists along with our physical body. It has been said that there are seven layers to the aura that surrounds the human body. These layers are the manifestation of an individual’s physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual energies. By studying the color and thickness of the auras, it is believed that one can determine the state of an individual’s health. The aura is divided into six colors signifying six individual personalities. These colors are all present in an individual aura, but one or two are generally more pronounced.

Red – activist

Violet – psychic

Green – ambitious achiever

Blue – spiritual peacemaker

White – unconventional chameleon

Orange – creative communicator

Tantra is most popularly associated with a particular practice of sex and spirituality, but it is also a method of energy healing. Tantra is derived from the word “tan”, meaning to spread or expand. The concept of connectedness is a recurring theme in Tantric writings on sex and spirituality. Spirituality and sexuality figure prominently in the Tantric method of healing. It is believed that the union of man and woman can reach spiritual levels during orgasm, which removes collected impurities from the body and mind. These impurities are negative energies that, if not removed, can manifest as physical illnesses.

Unlike Pranic and Tantric healings, which have Hindu origins, Reiki healing originated in Japan. Reiki is a relatively younger healing method than Pranic and Tantric healings, having been rediscovered in the early 1900′s. Reiki stands for universal energy brought forth by higher intelligence. Students of Reiki are taught how to tap this energy to heal physical, emotional, and mental illnesses.

Although Pranic, Tantra, and Reiki are all systems of energy healing, they differ in the type of energy tapped for healing: Pranic is life energy, Tantra is sexual energy, and Reiki is universal energy.

These healing methods are all similar in their concepts of the connectedness of mind, body, and spirit, the connection of individuals to the universe and to all living and nonliving things around them, and in the way the energy impacts physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

People are turning to Pranic, Tantric, and Reiki as alternative methods of healing. In spite of the availability and relative accessibility of modern medicine, there are several reasons that more and more people are being drawn to them:

Energy healing can work where modern medicine has failed

For reasons both explainable and mysterious, modern medical treatments can fail to heal ailments and conditions in certain patients. While research and available data may not be available to support this statement, the patients and their families will gladly accept the risk. In an attempt to find relief or a cure, these people may choose to use a number of alternative treatments including herbals and organics, faith healers, witch doctors and New Age healing techniques.

Modern medicine to be isolating

Medical treatments can often focus on the disease and its cause, leaving he patient feeling isolated. Although recent developments in hospital practice are beginning to promote the holistic treatment of patients, patients can still be left feeling like a mere host of the disease. In energy healing, spirituality and energy are intimately linked, leaving patients to feel as if all aspects of their health are being attended to.

Energy healing is non-obtrusive

Repeated surgical procedures can be physically and emotionally traumatic for most patients. Therefore, it is a logical and attractive option to patients and their families to turn to less stressful health interventions. Natural treatment is also the option of choice for the rising New Age religion population.

Energy healing relieves stress

Meditation is part and parcel of energy healing methods, and becomes greatly beneficial for highly stressed people. Further, because sophisticated equipment is not required, it is much more convenient for students and future students of energy healing.

Both mainstream medicine and alternative healing have benefits. We are fortunate to live in a society that encourages personal choice, so there are supporters in both arenas. Should you find the need for physical healing, research your options and choose the method that’s best for your personal situation. In the final analysis, what matters most is the restoration of your good health.
